Vectorization
Vectorization is a conversion of paper drawings into electronic form in CAD format. Paper drawing or a map is scanned into grid format with a large format scanner. Electronic drawing is ready for work or can be furthermore converted into vector form using professional vectorization applications, which support detection of various objects (arcs, texts etc.).
With vectorization you get an electronic drawing which can be edited in CAD applications or printed flawlessly.
Types of vectorization
- automatic - enables conversion of grid originals into vector form without invention of the operator. Suitable for quality black and white originals (maps 1:0000, 1:2000, technical drawings etc.). The result depends on the original. Automatic vectorization is a fast method which requires editing.
- semi-automatic - a conversion of grid originals into vector form with navigation of operator (tracing) - vectorization of contour plans etc. This method is more difficult, provides good results. Can be used during the creation of digital model.
- hand-operated - method is difficult and time-consuming, but enables work with all types of originals and provides 100% results.
